We often forget how powerful our words can be. When we make a promise, it’s up to us to keep that promise.

People who don’t keep their promises are seen as dishonest, while those who do are seen as trustworthy. Since people have been able to talk to each other, this has always been the case.

When we talk without thinking, we might not realize how powerful our words are. This can make people have false hopes, which can lead to frustration and mistrust.

Our promises to ourselves might be more important than we think, but we might not remember them because our memories have faded. Those of us who were hurt emotionally as kids might find it hard to trust ever again.

When we meditate and ask to be freed from a promise we no longer want to keep, old connections and patterns break. This lets us start over with a clean slate.

Then we should commit to honor any promises we make to ourselves or others and to consistently remember that keeping our word is special.

We can ask that all souls, including our own, who have been hurt by our broken promises be sent love, light, and healing. We can pray for enlightenment to do our best and to keep our commitment from now on.

There will be less guilt and more energy as a consequence. We shall be seen to be no greater than our last word.
