Men 101: Sex and Seduction

Sex and seduction, two words that send shivers down our spines, but why? Is it because they involve our bodies in a way that we don’t quite understand, or is it because we haven’t learned to be connected to them? The truth is, if we want to succeed in the game of life, we must first connect. Our mind and bodies are the instruments that will lead us to success, but if we can’t get out of our heads, we’ll be stuck in a perpetual state of failure.

Men, in particular, are known for their inability to escalate the situation. They can’t seem to lead the women out of their heads, let alone get out of their own. This is because they haven’t connected with their bodies. They’ve spent too much time in their heads, analyzing and strategizing, and not enough time feeling.

There’s a lot of talk about “naturals” versus those who have had to learn about attraction, but what if we don’t feel natural? What if we don’t want to follow someone else’s instructions? Learning techniques may help us in the short-term, but they won’t help us find our true nature.

Most attraction advice ignores the complex and difficult nature of our embodied, authentic selves. Instead, they have us plaster an upgraded set of masks all over it. We construct new, improved “Amorati masks” but they won’t sustain our interest for long.

The key to authenticity is feeling. We must learn to feel and use our feelings to guide our actions. Click To Tweet

The key to authenticity is feeling. We must learn to feel and use our feelings to guide our actions. Authenticity, the real, felt-in-the-body, bring-my-heart-and-guts-to-the-table stuff, is the greatest aphrodisiac. If we want our love lives to be cinematic, rather than a pantomime, we must learn to connect with our bodies and feel.

But what does it mean to be “natural”? Being natural means being authentic, feeling our emotions, and letting them guide us. It means not relying on techniques or masks, but on our true selves. It means connecting with our bodies, dancing with them, and leading our partners out of their heads and into the present moment.

So, if you want to succeed in the game of life, if you want to connect with others on a deeper level, if you want to reclaim your nature, start by connecting with yourself.

Dance with it, feel it, let it guide you. And remember, authenticity is the greatest aphrodisiac.
